The FB 3SPC collection wins a Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève Award

The Chronomètre FB 3SPC.1 wins the “Chronometry Prize”: the fifth GPHG award for Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud.

On 9 November 2023, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) Jury awarded the “Chronometry Prize” to Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud. It’s the Maison’s fifth award, following an “Aiguille d’Or” in 2016, Chronometry Prizes in 2019 and 2020 for the FB 1R.6-1 and FB 2RE.2 respectively and the Mechanical Exception Watch Prize in 2022 for the FB RSM.2-1.

The Chronomètre FB 3SPC, the third pillar of Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud collections, approaches the core theme of precision from a new angle. This timepiece is powered by the Calibre FB-SPC, the first and only mechanical movement with a cylindrical hairspring to be officially chronometer-certified by the Official Swiss Chronometry Testing Institute (COSC). Many years of research and development were required to perfect the adjustments of the regulating organ in order to earn this certification – the ultimate goal finally reached thanks to the high-precision timing operations performed by the Manufacture’s watchmakers.

“Right from the start of Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud, I set myself the task of paying tribute to the name of this illustrious master-watchmaker for whom precision was the ultimate quest”, said Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, President of Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud. “This goal is a daily challenge for the FB 3 collection and each adjustment requires the most rigorous discipline. This ‘Chronometry Prize’ thus represents genuine recognition for our teams, who work tirelessly to achieve our objectives and make our dreams come true, encouraging us to persevere.”
